It’s not in the typical way, and I didn’t do it alone (even though this is a one-woman show)

Let’s go back to early 2020 – I’m in New York, unhappily living with my ex boyfriend in his parent’s basement on Long Island, working with twins and a needy preemie as a full time nanny where I don’t make ANY money. For me, things were pretty terrible. Looking back on my time spent there, I’m not sure why or how I did it for so long. But I knew that wasn’t it for me.

I’d already taken courses and classes on how to code and design, but I held that stuff in my back pocket for when I knew I’d eventually need to use it. Lo and behold, I end up having to self isolate for 21 DAYS back home in Maryland where I had only me, myself, and my laptop in a guest bedroom day in and day out. I was going stir crazy. It was at that moment that I decided to “fix” my website. And while I was busy straightening it up, I decided to look for a business coach and a way to kickstart my design and development business. I took it as a sign that it was time to make a change.

After only a few months of coaching, tons of mindset shifting, and surrounding myself with a small handful of people who were doing the same if not better than me in their businesses, I was able to quit my job and take my design business full time. If you’d have asked me a year ago about where I thought I’d be, I wouldn’t have said running a 6-figure design business and doing all the things I used to only dream of being able to do (even something as simple as not having to wake up to an alarm ever again)
